It was a long and adventurous week in Austin with the photo booth at the Austin convention center for SXSW. The weather was gloomy with it raining cats and dogs upon our arrival, but come showtime it was a different story. You would have sworn it was like you were in a different city. Moreover, the streets were filled to capacity. Almost any establishment you visited were filled to the brim with folks attending SXSW. Food trucks, musicians, artists, and just about all people from different walks of life flooded the streets. Furthermore, it wouldn’t be a complete trip to Austin without some barbecue on our radar. Lucky for us, the president coming into town scared everyone from coming to downtown. Lines were almost NON existent… even the workers said it was the shortest line they’ve ever seen.
South by Southwest (SXSW) was in full force mch like every year taking over downtown Austin. Splendid Booth was out and about to capture some fun and excitement for people attending the trade show during interactive. While we were there mainly for the interactive portion we had a little spillover into the music scene. Furthermore, people from all over the WORLD congregated in this one spot to partake in the festivities. I think we ran into people from Japan, France, South Africa, and of course every state had some representation. It was definitely a wide mix of IT folk and even your college spring breaker making their way to SXSW.
Thanks to the Flight by Canto team for having us along for the ride. We had a blast executing the visuals. We definitely had a blast making and launching our giant paper airplanes. I’m sure the guests had a good throw or two of the planes as well. Finally, congratulations to the four winners of the DJI Phantom drones. Each day an attendee who dropped into the photo booth was entered to win a drone. There were four lucky individuals who definitely left with a smile when they found out they’d be going home with a brand new toy.
